2018 High School Photography Program
Lights...Camera...Awards!
In its third year, 54 incredibly talented South Florida high school students participated in the 2018 High School Photography Program Exhibition, Master Class, Lecture and Workshops held at FAU’s Theatre Lab in Boca Raton. This special video captures the pride and excitement of the young artists and their spectacular photos. Hear what the event means to these budding artists.

2017 High School Photography Program
2016 High School Pilot Program
The NSAL Florida East Coast Chapter was chosen by the national organization to be the first chapter in the country to create a High School Pilot Project in Photography. Twenty one students from Boca Raton High School piloted the program that expanded their knowledge in photography technique, taught them to curate an exhibit, and created the opportunity for them to showcase their work in a professional gallery setting.
The pilot project – which is serving as a model for similar projects in NSAL chapters across the United States – culminated in an exhibit of the students’ work and a master photography class conducted by award-winning New York Times Photographer Stephen Crowley.
Other budding photographers and artists from Spanish River High School also got a chance to display their work along with the Boca Raton High School students at the reception that was held at the Florida Atlantic University Theatre Lab where more than 100 guests attended.
Winner of numerous awards, Crowley shared a 2002 Pulitzer Prize with a team of Times photographers covering the war in Afghanistan. In 2005, American Photo magazine named him one of the "100 Most Important Photographers."
